Apple Pie Scrolls
These warm, sweet scrolls make for an amazing winter warmer dessert, for the family or when entertaining others.

Apple Pie Scrolls
Dry:
2 cups self raising flour
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
Mix ins:
1 cup tinned apple slices, mashed
Scroll Filling:
50g butter, softened
¼ cup date syrup
⅓ cup tinned apple slices, mashed
01 Preheat oven to 180°C.
02 Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add apple and mix with a spoon until dough starts to form. Use hands to bring dough together into a ball.
03 Place dough onto a generously floured bench. With lightly floured hands, lightly knead for one minute.
04 Roll dough with a flour dusted rolling pin, to form a large 20 x 30 cm rectangle, with the dough 1 cm thick.
05 Whisk butter and date syrup together until smooth. Add apple and stir until a paste forms. Spread evenly onto dough.
06 Roll up lengthwise and slice into 10 pieces. Arrange close together in a 20cm round, lined pie dish. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, until golden.
Store: In an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Apple Scroll Sauce
1 cup Greek yoghurt
3 tbsp date syrup
¼ tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp water
01 Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl until smooth. Pour over freshly baked scrolls.
Store: In an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
