Chocolate Custard

Prep: 2 min | Cook: 8 min | Serves: 2

Chocolate Custard

Stage 1:

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup corn flour

  • pinch salt

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Stage 2:

  • 2 cups milk of choice

  • 50g 70% dark chocolate

01 Whisk stage 1 ingredients in a small saucepan until smooth. Add a dash of the milk and whisk to make a smooth paste.

02 Pour in remaining milk. Place saucepan over high heat and whisk continuously for 8 minutes, or until custard thickens.

03 Remove from heat. Add chocolate to custard and whisk until melted and combined. Serve warm.

Store: Leftovers in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave and stir to recombine.

Dietaries:

To make this recipe dairy free and vegan, opt for dairy free milk (such as oat, almond or soy) and use a vegan chocolate.
