This burger tastes as good as takeaway, without the fatty, dripping, greasy mess that can come from many fast food options. It’s an easy lunch or dinner option that can be modified to suit your tastes.

Prep: 10 min | Cook: 15 min | Serves: 4

Beef Burgers

Patty Ingredients:

  • 500g beef mince

  • ¼ tsp EACH salt + pepper

  • 1 tbsp fresh chives or parsley, finely chopped

Burger Ingredients:

  • 4 burger buns

  • 4 cheese slices

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

  • 4 lettuce leaves

01 Combine all patty ingredients in a bowl. Divide mixture into 4 even portions. Shape into discs.

02 Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Crack the eggs in and cook for 2 minutes or until cooked through. Remove and set aside.

03 Add the beef patties and cook for 4 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.

03 Split buns and layer base with patty, egg, cheese, tomato and lettuce. Cover with bun top.

Dietaries:

To make this recipe gluten free, opt for gluten free bread. For a dairy free option omit the cheese. For an egg free option omit the egg.
