Slow Cooked Osso Bucco

I love this slow cooked meal, the meat is always so tender and the flavour of the sauce is so rich. Make sure you have some crusty sourdough bread handy, to mop up all the juices.

Prep: 20 min | Cook: 4-6 hrs | Serves: 4

Slow Cooked Osso Bucco

Stage 1:

  • 1.2kg osso buco beef (4 large pieces)

  • 1 stalk celery, finely sliced

  • 1 large brown onion, sliced

  • 2 large carrots, sliced

  • 3 large white cup mushrooms, roughly chopped

Stage 2:

  • 1 x 30g Mingle Hearty Stroganoff sachet

  • 1 cup beef stock

  • ½ cup tomato paste

  • 1 sprig rosemary

Sides:

  • mashed potatoes

01 Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large frypan over high heat. Add beef and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until browned. Transfer beef and juices to a slow cooker.

02 Add remaining stage 1 ingredients to the frypan. Cook for 4 minutes, stirring often. Stir in sachet contents and cook for 1 minute. Add to slow cooker, followed by stage 2 ingredients.

03 Cook for 4 hrs on high or 6 hrs on low, or until meat is tender. Serve with mashed potato.
