There’s so much versatility with a pizza base. Simply throw on your favourites and let’s go!

Prep: 20 min | Cook: 30 hrs | Makes: 2

Pizza Dough

Stage 1:

  • 1½ cups (375ml) warm water

  • ½ tsp of maple syrup

  • 2 tsp dried yeast

Stage 2:

  • 4 cups wholemeal plain flour and extra for dusting

  • 1 tsp salt

Stage 3:

  • ¼ cup oil and extra for brushing

  • desired pizza toppings

01 Combine stage 1 ingredients in a small bowl. Stir and set aside for 5 minutes.

02 Mix stage 2 ingredients in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre. Pour in wet mixture and oil. Mix with a knife until a shaggy dough forms. Use hands to bring dough together.

03 Turn onto a lightly floured bench and knead for 5 minutes. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover bowl with a damp cloth and leave near a warm source for 3o minutes, until doubled in size.

04 Preheat oven to 200°C.

05 Dust work surface with flour. Knead dough and halve. With a rolling pin, roll each dough into 30cm circles. Place on pizza trays. Add toppings and bake for 15 mins.
