Pear and Banana Porridge

Such a quick breakfast to make that’s loaded with natural sweetness.

Prep: 5 min | Cook: 10 min | Serves: 3

Pear and Banana Porridge

Stage 1:

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tsp maple syrup or honey

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Stage 2:

  • 1 ripe pear, grated

  • 1 small ripe banana, mashed

  • drizzle of chocolate nut butter (optional)

01 Add stage 1 ingredients to a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring often, then reduce to a gentle simmer.

02 Stir in pear and banana. Cook for a further 5 minutes, stirring often, until thick.

03 Remove from heat and spoon into bowls. Top with a drizzle of nut butter.

Store: Leftovers in an air tight container for 1 day.

Dietaries:

For a dairy free option, use a dairy free milk such as oat or almond milk. For a nut free option, omit the nut butter.
